Dear friends of tradition, homemade cakes and Easter customs,
Easter is getting closer, and with it comes one of the most fragrant and beloved spring events in Žminj!
We are delighted to announce the 13th edition of the event “Istrian Pinca under the Čripnja on the Hearth”, which will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, starting at 1:00 PM, in Žminj – in the tent next to the school.
Join us for a true Easter gathering filled with the aromas of homemade pinca, traditional cakes, entertainment and excellent local gastronomy.
Program
• 1:00 PM – Opening of the event
• “Ćakula” by the hearth – Žminj housewives, together with interesting guests, present the art of making pinca
• The largest pinca in the world by Zdenka Jakus
• EASTER EGG TAPPING TOURNAMENT – the winner takes home a traditional ham (špaleta)
• Selection of the most beautiful pinca, cakes and Easter eggs with special prizes
• Fair of local family farms (OPGs) with a rich offer of Easter products
• Performances by: kindergarten, school, KUD Cere and the Žminj majorettes
• Children’s corner – Pikula Playroom from Žminj
• Entertainment by KRAINERI & DJ
GASTRO CORNER – so we won’t be hungry or thirsty
The aromas of traditional cuisine will spread throughout Žminj, prepared by:
UO Galant (Žminj)
• boiled špaleta (smoked pork shoulder)
• boiled Easter eggs
• homemade onions
UO Žminjka (Žminj)
• scrambled eggs with špaleta and wild asparagus
• Easter sandwich with špaleta in wine
• špaleta giravolta
Plate of traditional Istrian Easter dishes – €10
Participate in the exhibition of pinca, Easter cakes and decorated eggs
Everyone is invited to bring their pinca, Easter cake or decorated Easter eggs and participate in the exhibition.
Each participant who brings a pinca or Easter cake receives a €10 gift voucher and a certificate of participation.
The best works will receive additional prizes!

Submission of entries
Entries must be delivered on March 29, 2026 to the tent at the school playground in Žminj from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
